Zohran Mamdani Vows a 'New Era' for The Big Apple in Maiden Speech
On his inauguration day in office, Zohran Mamdani committed to “transform” the metropolis, declaring “a new era” and an ambitious commencement to his administration.

The 34-year-old political star, who was a relatively obscure state assemblyman, is the city's first mayor born in Africa. He additionally marked a milestone by being the first to be sworn in using the Qur'an.
